{"id":2171,"date":"2022-06-03T14:27:07","date_gmt":"2022-06-03T14:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.psmgt.org.uk\/us\/?p=2171"},"modified":"2022-07-14T15:15:09","modified_gmt":"2022-07-14T15:15:09","slug":"educators-rise-to-the-challenge-at-the-2022-irish-education-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.psmgt.org.uk\/us\/educators-rise-to-the-challenge-at-the-2022-irish-education-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"EDUCATORS RISE TO THE CHALLENGE AT THE 2022 IRISH EDUCATION AWARDS"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"secondary-font__SecondaryFontStyles-nwz1jt-0 ftfvHJ custom-subheadline font_normal font_md margin-md-bottom color_themes_primary-font-color\">Innovation drives education sector response as Covid-19 challenges met head-on<\/h2>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph\">Having survived and excelled during a most challenging period, Ireland\u2019s leading education establishments showcased how they stayed ahead of the curve and made key improvements to core offerings that are sure to outlive the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph\">As one of the most important sectors to maintain throughout Covid-19, the Irish education community truly led by example by implementing a wide range of measures spanning facilities management right through to technology.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph\">With more than 45 education institutes and organisations entering the Awards, the winners were announced during a live event at Clontarf Castle. It combined with a television broadcast enabling remote engagement by some 300 online particpants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph\">The Awards, now in their sixth year, were supported by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/amarach.com\/\"><u>Am\u00e1<\/u><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/amarach.com\/\"><u>rach Research<\/u><\/a>\u00a0and produced by BusinessRiver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph\">One of the trophies handed out on the day went to University College Cork. UCC\u2019s president, Prof John O\u2019Halloran, said: \u201cAt UCC, we are a diverse, dynamic and connected community. Our recent triple award success at the 2022 Education Awards recognises, validates and celebrates the impact of the individual and collective contributions our campus community of students and staff make every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph\">Another winning institution was TUS. \u00a0\u201cIt was an honour for our project to represent TUS at the Education Awards,\u201d said lecturer Marie O\u2019Brien. \u201cThis was significant recognition of the innovative approach we have adopted in using team-based learning [TBL] pedagogy in TUS. We hope to further cement TUS as the leaders in TBL in Ireland when we host the Inaugural European TBL symposium in Athlone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-1nhbny4-0 gVsmvl body-paragraph\">Winners and finalists were sent clips of the live broadcast for use in their own social media and internal stakeholder communications. Observed Darragh Feirit\u00e9ar, Head of Judging: \u201cThe awards were a remarkable achievement from a sector that had more change than almost any other to contend with over the last two years.
