The objective of the Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance qualification is to provide learners with an understanding of: contemporary and specialised approaches to accountancy and finance. key practical, theoretical and empirical issues, and academic research. the complexity of the ever-changing legal framework in which the financial sector operates. the latest developments in accountancy and reporting required by local, national and European government. This qualification is designed for learners who wish to pursue a career in the financial services industry, professional accountancy, banking and finance or management. The qualification equips learners with the essential skills and knowledge needed to pursue high level careers in all types of organisations in the public and private sector and within industry and commerce, both in the UK and abroad. The Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance qualification also provides learners with the opportunity to work toward a relevant master’s programme with advanced standing.

STAGE TWO: MSc ACCOUNTING & FINANCE TOP-UP – 4 – 6 MONTHS (In partnership with London Graduate School, UK) awarded by University of Buckingham or University of Gloucestershire via IDM.

Achieving the Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance qualification enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue their further study. As this qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual, learners are eligible to progress to Master’s top-up programmes in the UK and overseas with advanced standing.

MODULES

  • Business Research Methods

The goal of this unit is to help learners improve their research skills, which include writing research proposals, conducting literature reviews, referencing, collecting data, conducting interviews and surveys, designing questionnaires, statistical analysis using SPSS, qualitative data, and drawing conclusions from the research findings.

  • Corporate Reporting

This unit aims to help students improve their ability to plan and analyse financial statements for a variety of businesses. Learners would be able to apply accounting concepts and principles to real-world situations. In the analysis of financial results, learners would be able to develop their quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

  • Global Finance and Strategy

This unit aims to help students consider the kinds of choices that must be made before entering global markets. Learners can understand that addressing financial problems independently within a set time frame is critical for business growth.

  • Investment Analysis

This unit aims to improve students’ knowledge of investment theories and market equilibrium models, as well as the ability to conduct bond valuations and assess current investment returns. Learners will be able to objectively evaluate the cause and impact of changes on the global stock market after completing this unit. For future investments, learners would be able to make effective recommendations.

  • Strategic Financial Management

After completing this unit, learners would have acquired experience and understanding of financial capital preparation, use, and management in a business organisation. Learners will recognise the significance of meeting corporate goals and optimising shareholder return. Learners can develop a practical understanding of corporate strategy design and the development of concise business strategies.

  • Strategic Audit

This unit aims to help students understand how managers should properly place and implement business strategies. This will include a thorough examination of the strategic auditing process and associated practices. Learners may be able to recognise and adapt appropriate analytical strategies in both constructive and negative situations.

TOP-UP (UNIVERSITY) PROGRESSION

Students can pursue a Master’s degree programme in partnership with London Graduate School, UK after completing this course. The top-up programme is available both online and on campus. The final 60 credits of the top-up are made up of either a dissertation or a dissertation and one module.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • For entry onto the Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance qualification, learners must possess: An honours degree in a related subject or a UK level 6 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification Mature learners with management experience (learners must check with the delivery centre regarding this experience prior to registering for the programme) Learners must be 21 years old or older at the beginning of the course English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.
